2 offers!

Hi,

What are the consequences for declining a role and accepting another at the same organization, but, different location?

Suppose I am offered Role A at Firm T in Location P

And, I accepted this offer . . However, my 1st preference was Role B.

Now, after a month (already accepted Role A) what if I took an interview for Role B at Firm T in Location Q

And, received offer

{I really want Role B😭}

NOTE: *My preference is Role B over Role A *I have already accepted 1st offer (Role A)

this was asked before. the consensus was that it was risky to renege within the same firm as HR will eventually catch on due to the jobs being linked to your candidate profile. better that you stick with A, and then lateral over to B. HR probably didn't notice anything till now because they tend to have separate HR groups for each location.

IMO, talking to your interviewer will only raise the red flag that you continued to interview for role B despite having accepted Role A. This might cause you your offer. Think its best to just decline Role B. They'll catch on eventually because HR does work across globally when it comes to things like consolidating names and numbers for the analyst class.. but the hiring part is separate.

Hang in there buddy, I know it's a sucky situation to be in.
