[2021 SA RECRUITING] Int Students’ Internship at Home Country??

An international student at a target/semi-target, near perfect GPA.

I think my resume looks good (2 IB interships + 1 PE) but have barely any 1st rounds. Only the PE internship is in the states, both IBs are in home country.

Do analysts discount these non-USbased experiences when screening resume? Is that why I got dinged? or is there another reason to this?

Would say yes. When I only had an internship in my home country, recruiting was much more difficult.

Would suggest making the US PE experience take up more than half of your work experience bullets / space. Also would highlight things like case competitions, sports teams, etc to highlight english public speaking skills / culture fit.

Finally, make sure you are describing your IB experience with the same word choices an US banker would use. I particuarly struggled with this at first.

Edit: I assume your home country is something like India or China
