Advice For Bio Major going to Finance w/ mediocre 3.39-3.45 GPA (new to this forum)
I am not shooting for GS, or JPM for investment banking. I realize that I don't have a chance in h*** of getting into their IB divisions. The reason why I'm interested in IBD, starts from my interest in biotech companies and keeping up to date with the financial information of some of the new neurodegenerative disease pharma startups. I found that I have no passion for research, as I found it to be tedious and boring and wanted to do something else.
Couple other Miscellaneous Questions:
What are the career prospects of those who do retail banking (exit opps, upward mobility)?
Will doing a CFA while working as a retail banker, and developing solid investment background help in any way?
Are there any financial roles that would be feasible with my GPA? Especially at smaller banks?
How much does GPA matter after the 1st job?
