Advice on moving to London/England

I am not having good luck at all in the current job market and I believe it’s due to my teeth. I got a couple interviews after several hundred applications, but no luck after I don’t smile revealing my teeth. They are not brown/black, but slightly crooked and have a small chip on one tooth (~15k or so fix for Zirconia Veneers).

I’m wondering first what the situation in the UK is for foreigners:

  1. Specifically, is it realistic to get to the VP level (Sales & Trading, IB, or Private Equity) through hard work?

  2. Is a Bachelor’s degree enough for any of these roles or should I really do a Master’s/Law degree?

  3. Is it unheard of for an American to start/co-found their own firm in London?

Secondly, I’m wondering what you think about either joining a prop shop (own deposit) or getting a job as a financial adviser. Would the financial adviser experience hurt for private equity/IB? I mean, there’s always the possibility of being a financial adviser in PWM though that’s really a last resort option (probably not good for my soul).

That being said, I have successfully transferred into a General Business program that is ranked top 75 in shanghai ranking (versus the 268 school I was at before). I feel that it’s in my best interest to leave the country for my financial well-being (rather save that 15k for a fixxer/private school for kids etc...).

Thanks in advance.
