Advice on pivoting to finance
I’m mid-career and work in media. (I’m an editor and manager. Salary: $128k) I am about to finish my EMBA, and I particularly enjoyed the finance module — to such an extent that it piqued my interest in a career change.
I don’t want to manage another person’s money. I was thinking more along the lines of financial analyst, financial manager, CFO, or actuary. I enjoy math and spreadsheets. And I have a certificate in applied biostats.
I know my range of interests is a bit broad and my ambitions are still nebulous. But I would appreciate any advice you can offer. Basically, what’s the best way to pivot into a financial career with no related employment experience?
