Advice on switching offices for FT

Ignore my title… I am currently an intern at a regional (think SF/CHI) EB (think LAZ/MOE/EVR). I am enjoying my time here but I have realized recently that for personal reasons I would really like to be in NYC if I get the return offer. Any advice on navigating this switch?

I have networked lightly with the NYC group but nothing too extensive.
