Advice please , interships or graduate application?

HI

I am unsure about what next steps i should take , i have graduated and want to apply for a graduate role in IB. Now my problem is that i have graduated from a non target university , with a 2:1 - should i apply for interships , where i might be offered a role later.

Should i apply for graduate jobs, where i will have to go to smaller banks, Or even study ACA , an accountants role in the hope of transferring into Business / Financial analyst roles.

any advice?

thanks,

With a non-target, 2.1 GPA, your best bet will be to get into a role that is somewhat relevant to IB and build a small career, go to business school and pursue IB from there. If you want to take the chance now, you will need to network really hard and prove yourself before they see your GPA - in other words keep your GPA off of your resume and work on networking with and cold calling boutique shops - even if starting unpaid.

That said, even unpaid positions now can be competitive if you don't have any type of past work experience that is relevant to the position - if you don't have internship experience you will have an even smaller chance than now.

It's a 2:1, the UK grading works like that, it's not a 2.1/4.0.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.
