Algorithmic execution, where to go from here?
Brother chimps,
I'm a relatively recent grad from a smaller school in NYC. Right now I'm working in a sales role at one of the bigger agency-only algorithmic execution shops for the past 8-9 months. Some of the positives of the job so far have been that I was sponsored and passed the Series 7/63, I've learned a lot about the equity market micro-structure, how algorithms work in order to execute client orders, and just my overall "sales" skills in general. While I do find the products and job interesting, it's clear that with equity trading volume continuing to shrink, and the fact that the electronic execution market is heavily saturated, this may not be the best place to grow my career/skill set. I was hoping to get some advice as to where any of you see some one in my position moving to next, or if you also work in the same space what is your take on the future of the business?
