All about search funds.

Hey guys,

I am a second-year non-target finance major in Canada. My gpa is ass (2.3) headed to 2.8 by end of fall sem. and hopefully 3.0+ after second year is done. My gpa was low due to family issues (parents losing job, family members having health problems, having to travel back to the city to work weekends) I'm interested in IB, I know I don't stand a real chance at traditional internships (PWM, risk advisory, or something similar) I am actively looking to take unpaid internships at search funds. What is the gpa requirement? do I stand a real chance given my gpa? how can I have them look past my gpa? I am currently taking biws modeling courses to up my knowledge and the only work experience I have is as a cashier and a stock boy. Thanks in advance!
