Am I Fucked? Australian in the US

Am I fucked?

For reference: I'm an Australian (Dual Citizen) running track on a scholarship at a decent school for engineering in a small city. I'm doing my MBA straight out of undergrad (I had to do something- track scholarship was my rationale for US). My school has terrible alumni connections. I missed out on anything decent this summer so I'm at a boutique consulting joint in my city. I have IB summer, business development and corporate advisory exp all from boutiques in Aus and US. Bachelors at a really good Australian school. All tech skills fine. 4.0 GPA both degrees.

Pretty much: I started my intern search too late (t-12 months) and really playing catch up. Sending off heaps of apps but unless I am able to speak with recruiters first, they see my MBA and are like wtf is this bloke doing (im 22 ffs).

Have a few MM interviews but really slim opportunities outside of this. Current approach is networking with aussies in nyc which is easy but... limited conversion to interviews. Think I'm targetting MM IB but anybody have advice. Particularly from a fellow silly monkey who went bachelors>MBA.
