Am I making a mistake with choice of major?

Incoming Environmental Science student at UCLA. Recently stumbled on this forum and want to pursue ibanking.

Is coming from a "niche" major more interesting for recruitment?
Would I get rejected for having an irrelevant major, assuming I take part in other finance-related internships and clubs?
