AM vs IM career advice / Msc Finance
Dear monkeys, first time here but I do need advice.
Just graduated from a top european BS with a one year transfer to an ivy, got a total of 4 finance related internships (IB, AM & Corp. finance) at EBs and MM banks. However, I am not really sure about following a career in AM or IB cause for the moment I like both, though I would slightly prefer AM. For this year my plan is to work at one top investment consulting firm (think Cambridge/Mercer/Aon/Willis) to get a deeper understanding of the markets and at the same time take CFA lvl I. Then, the following year I would take a Msc Finance in top BS (LSE, Boconi, Esade, HEC) and apply then to IB or AM.
As a Msc Finance student, would I be able to apply to SA IB positions or only full time? and would I have enough experience to enter a top AM firm (Fidelity/Blackrock...)? What do you monkais recommend?
Nothing to add except to say you sound really well pedigreed and my guess is you're going to crush whatever you decide to do.
