Analyst —> Doctor?

Hi everyone, I’m currently an analyst in IB and have gotten more and more interested in the medical field. I am truly passionate about learning how to treat certain illnesses / research medical terminology. In addition, I’ve actively had conversations with doctors about their work. I feel that being in the medical field can be both practical and rewarding.

Despite this, I know how difficult and stressful medical school / being a doctor is. In addition, the cost of going to medical school is astronomical. The salaries in finance are very good and I like my job, but if anyone could give any insight who made the move or even debated this and didn’t make a move would be appreciated.

Thanks

Also considering this.

Did you fulfill the premed requirements when in school?

I’d have to go back for a post-bacc so I’m a bit unmotivated since that adds two years on top of the four years in medical school..
