Any way to fix this networking relationship

So summer recruiting has been ruff for me this year so i'v been cold calling like crazy. I contacted this analyst from a non-target at a small boutique and they told me to send my resume to me and it will be forwarded to MD.

I sent my resume and cover letter and completely messed up, in my cover letter i had multiple typos and also the analyst didn't like the formatting of my resume and cover letter.

Basically 15 min later i got an email telling me all this and saying I can reach out once I fixed the issues but there are no summer positions still available.

My question is....I've created a new resume and cover letter from scratch completely re-formated everything but IDK if this guy will ever take me seriously again. Would it be risky to try to reach out to another analyst at the firm and try again?

I think he just said that because there were so many mistake in my resume and cover letter that he wouldn't even dream of passing that along to his MD. But also just to contact in a few months for FT recruiting or just advice maybe IDK.

This is probably why summer recruiting has been "ruff" for you. Keep this guy on your list anyway but I'd say your chances are slim. What went on in his head is: "if this guy didn't get the basic formatting right, does he have the rest of his game right?"

Move on. Fix your resume. And for gawd's sake do you research inside and out before reaching out to people. If your format is the wrong way that means you have long ways to go.
