Applying
A company started accepting applications for their internship program, should I be one of the first to apply, or wait till I start interning at a prestigious firm (which I will be in a week and will put on my resume) to apply for it

Is the deadline before you start your intern role? If not, what do you hope to achieve/communicate by applying earlier?
No, I start in a week and the deadline is in march
What are the benefits to applying early? Unless its a situation where positions can be filled before the deadline (first come first serve in a sense), I see no reason why you would apply early and exclude a strong name on your resume.
I stated in my cover letter that I will be taking part in the strong program
From my understanding, Resumes are looked at more than Cover Letters in banking, so I wouldn't bank (get it?) on them fully reading the cover letter and seeing the name. Also, the deadline is in march, which is a long ways away. Just wait until you start the internship, put it on your resume, and apply then. Thats what I think is the best solution.
