Arrest vs. No charges vs. Conviction on a background check?
Long story short, I had a spiteful ex-girlfriend that filed a sworn affidavit against me with the local police at my University. The charge was misdemeanor stalking, and was transferred to the courts. The courts opened the case and decided not to prosecute (i.e "no charges/information filed). I've done my research into the situation, and apparently if they did decide to prosecute, a warrant for my arrest would have been issued with a summons etc.
My question is, for finance/bank related jobs where apparently there are extra regulations, will this process (once again from a technical stand point, no arrest, no charges, and obviously no conviction) that does have a public court record pose a problem? Will the typical background check display that I wasn't arrested/charged despite the court record?
I've contemplated trying to get it expunged (not sure if I'm able to since I was never arrested), but it seems kind of silly since there was no arrest or court date etc., and there are a lot of private criminal data companies that might not update their records.

Could you update us on what happened? I'm facing a very similar situation
