Background Check - Employment Date Wrong
Hi! I recently got hired for an internship, and I just found out one of the employment dates listed on my resume is a little off. I listed my internship as ending in July of last year, but I was looking through my records, and I found out my "official" last day was August 3 (coincided with the payroll period of the firm... my last day worked was in July, but the system does not recognize this).
Will I be red-flagged in a background check over this? I never intended to lie about anything, I honestly did not know this until today.
I highly doubt that would be a problem as you actually made your employment time shorter. If it did get flagged, which I doubt, just give that explanation. Also for an internship they do not care

So this is a really bizarre situation but here it goes.
I had an internship for two-summers pre-college. Originally on my resume I had the two summer dates separate (ie. May 2008 - July 2008, May 2009 - July 2009).
At my school before we are allowed to submit applications to ocr positions, our career center must "pre-approve" our resumes. The career center said that displaying my dates like that looked sloppy because it took up two lines and as well as wasnt in the correct format. They asked me to make it one line and say May 2008 - July 2009 and explain in interviews it was summers. Looking back, I was naive and stupid for listening to this. I made the changes and figured it wouldnt be a big deal because I could explain in interviews/in the online app. I have always explained in interviews that it was just summers as well as when putting the more specific dates on company's site.
I have an offer from a firm now but have not accepted. For the background check I do plan on just putting the employer twice with the more specific dates. I did cite in all my interviews with this firm that the internship was just summers, but my interviewers may not remember/are not the ones performing the background check. Opinions on how proceed?
call HR and explain.. this will be a red flag in the background check for sure!
opinions on whether I should do this before or after I accept?

so I have the option to upload new resume I just realized, I am hesitant to do this initially however, as I feel this seems suspect. I am worrying that the HR contact might just immediately slam and rescind me, do we really think this will go over well?
Dude, it's really not a big deal, just list the specific dates on the online thing, and send HR an email to make sure it's on record.
called HR today, they said they had that written down that it was just summers.

Hi guys,
I got an offer as a BA/AC in MBB. I am planning to accept the offer this week. However, I noticed that I sent by mistake wrong start-end dates of my previous job (experience in the specific job should be 10 months instead of 12). I made clear during the interview it was less than a year, but didn't realize the mistake in the CV until I received the offer letter.
This week I have to accept the offer, calling my last interviewer (Principal). My question is: Should I tell him during the call accepting/negotiating offer or should I contact HR directly instead? Background check hasn't started yet. Since this is BA/AC position, and rest of information is solid, I won't expect the mistake to be a major issue. I just don't want to give the impression that I am playing with MBB.

Just leave it alone, they won't care about a month or two. I can't remember my start and end dates down to the month.
Just tell the principal you accept the offer, little room for negotiation here. Straighten the employment thing out with HR if you want. Or leave it, nobody really cares
