BAE Systems is looking for an Assistant Accountant (Projects) in Telford

Would you like to work on a diverse range of projects with the challenging, yet exciting function of Land UK? We currently have vacancies for Assistant Accountants (Projects) within both In Service Support and Future Projects at our site in Telford.

As an Assistant Accountant (Projects), you will sit within an experienced team and be responsible for a number of projects incorporating forecasting, private venture funding, preparing business cases and reviewing costs/margins.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to experience a great variety of exposure to different elements of the business and allow the chance to build a wide stakeholder network across the functions.

**Your main responsibilities as an Assistant Accountant (Projects) will involve: **

Delivering value-adding, robust financial services to the project team

Delivering accurate and consistent forecast information including project reporting information to meet the needs of the project team and finance management within the required timescales of the business unit and the wider group, up to and including the preparation of the CSR, related trading plans and trading summary

Monitoring financial performance, providing independent and robust financial challenge

Reconciling the financial reports to the source ledgers to ensure integrity of the data provided

Providing support to the improvement of processes and procedures to ensure that the financial control requirements of the business are met

Maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external customers

Resolving problems to ensure development/production timescales are met

Supporting in the decision making process which will have a significant impact on project performance

Providing helpline to internal and external customers

Your skills and qualifications:

Minimum Part Qualified Accountant

Prior experience of financial accounting, financial reporting or management accounting

Proficient user of IT Systems, fundamentally Excel but Microsoft Office Package

Degree or equivalent qualification preferred

You will have a logical approach to business operations and a flexible approach to work, with a desire and willingness to achieve. You will be able to work effectively, both as part of a team and independently.

Salary: £20,000 - £25,000
