BB (London) offer

Hey guys

Today I received my analyst offer from a BB in London. I don't want to name it - but let me put it as Tier2 BB so not GS / MS / JP but rather CS / DB / UBS / Barcays.

I left BAML out since whichever group I choose to put it into - I will get monkey shit thrown at me.

My questions is this. What I really want to do (like 99% here) is go to a good fund on the buyside at the end. PE / VC / HF whatever.

I just spoke to a friend at JP and he said beying at Tier2 BB will limit my options and I need to try and break into GS / MS / JP. What's the community's take on this? Am I going nuts here or does the guy have a point?

I would love to hear from someone who actually works on the buyside - what do you guys actually look for? Technical skills? Analyst rankings? Does GS vs say Barclays make a lot of difference?
