Best Outlook for Engineers?

The way I see things: Engineers are the ones with the brain and can actually make something happen. However, although they are valuable, they do not end up taking the credit for their work. Its mostly the people who are in the higher position or the business people that take credit for their efforts. In a sense, the engineers are manipulated by business people to make money for them. The truth is very sad though because engineers requires a lot more work.

Are there any career for engineer major where they get to make more $$$ than what they would make if they were to work at like a tech company?
