Best route for a UCT grad?

Hi guys. I’m about to go to UCT for my undergrad, I picked maths and mathematical statistics as my majors but I’m not sure whether these are the best majors I could have at the moment and any feedback would be good. I’m interested in actuarial science, quant finance primarily but considering other quantitative white collar jobs.

I am not a South African national but I am African. I don’t know whether I would want to or even be able to work in South Africa (heard work permits are a headache). Do you guys think it would be possible for me to get a work permit as a fresh grad in South Africa? What about countries like Australia, Canada, England or Ireland?

Any feedback would be appreciated. I would ultimately like to get into part III of the Cambridge tripos but know that’s relatively unlikely.
