Best time to call a broker?
I have good contact at a BB that I've talked on the phone. He works as a broker and initially contacted me to meet up and such when I get back in town (I'm on vacation). It's nearing my time to return and I want to set something up. I called recently trying to catch him before dinner but after work but he was busy and said he'd call me back, but didn't. I understand these people are busy and I'm gracious that he called me to begin with. My question is when is the best time/day to contact him? He works in prime brokerage.
Thank you.
Shoot him an email explicitly asking for a time to talk. And if he says 2pm, send him an Outlook calendar request for 2pm. It's the only way I get S&T guys firmed down for anything.
Bingo.
Whatever you do, don't try calling at 9:32 AM or 3:59 PM.
Thank you for the responses.
However, I'd much rather call. If I email I'm afraid I'll get blown off. Is there no sort of best time to call during the work day?
Markets generally follow a U-shaped activity curve - middle of the day is best.
try noon
Thanks guys, I just emailed in the morning and he replied. If I call, I'll remember to do it during the noon.
When you have money to give him, he'll definitely take your call then, trust me.
