Best way to get to a HF or PE position

Hello,

So I'm a junior and I have a summer offer from JPM in Sales&Trading. This academic year I've been interning at an AM firm and have realized I loved the buy-side of things. I know I want to work on the buy-side and am now worried the S&T internship is a bit of a mistake (however, too late to switch tracks).
I was wondering if anyone has any advice as to what desk in JPM for the summer might be a best option for what I want to do later? There is a "relationship management" desk in Sales that works with all the high-end clients and their MD indicated that allows for great exit opportunities due to network. Is this true? Or should I do a more analytical desk?
Again, my goal is to be on the buy-side and work for a HF later on, I'm worried I won't be eligible to do so after my summer internship (as it's not IB) and that I won't be able to get a job closer to this as full time post grad offer. Should I do the S&T and then interview for something else in the Fall?

Can you get an FT offer from this AM firm, or do they have any connections?
