Big 4 to ODD

As my username suggests, I am currently at a Big 4 working in a Risk Consulting role. My long term (long shot) goal is to get into PE one day and I'm trying to find the next, best step to take. I've been considering interviewing for an Operational Due Diligence role, would this better align me for B school and ultimately PE? If not, what would you recommend (yes I've tried to transfer to Transactions internally and it's impossible)?

I really appreciate any advice or opinion, thanks.

Another Big 4'ER here looking to get into Private Equity one day as well! From what I heard TAS-->MBA-->PE (or IB then PE) is the optimal way. Have you looked at other firms TAS groups (or potentially TAS in another market?)

Thanks for the replies.

I've been applying to other big 4 TAS but haven't gotten any hits which is why I was wondering whether ODD would be equally valuable as I've been getting a bunch of interest for those positions. Guessing the answer is no and to continue perusing TAS?
