Also interested in this as I'm in a similar position although have the option of deferring.
Any chance you can also defer or is it too late? Problem is the longer you stay in consulting the more difficult the switch becomes.
If not then best bet is probably networking with boutiques whilst on the graduate scheme or try to move internally to a CF/TS role. Big 4 tend to prefer internal moves so may have a good shot there. Transaction Services to Equity Research/ IBD tends to be a more common route. Know a few people who have ACA qualified at a Big 4 and joined IBD although at an Analyst level. Not sure how plausible it is with consulting and CIMA as management consulting does not involve as much finance.
Seems top MBAs are quite competitive and that is what would be required to move into a BB with no prior similar experience. Would probably be better to save the money spent on a MBA and rather network.
As I said in a similar position so probably not best placed to give advice. Would be interested to hear others' thoughts.
