Bloomberg/FactSet acknowledged or go for another company

Hi Everyone.

I am about to finish my master in finance and I've got a job offer at FactSet and have final round at Bloomberg. The positions are graduate consultant and sales & analytics, respectively. I applied because I love financial markets, but after reading on the internet I realised that it's much more software and not so much financial markets. Both positions is in London.

I don't have enough experience or good enough grades to get in to IB, IM etc. in a major city yet.

My dream is to get in to private equity, hedge fund, investment banking, investment management, etc.

I guess that FactSet and Bloomberg has a nice environment with young people. Also as a consultant you will get a strong network, which might could help getting another job in the future.

I have a few other probabilities (interviews) in smaller banks, insurance, pension etc. but this is not in London. But these positions are more analytical.

Anyone have any recommendations? Is it best to go for a analytical position NOT in London or better to take the consultant role in London?

Anyone have worked at FactSet/Bloomberg or know someone?! What did they said and what did they moved to?

I've met a few people who have gone from being a consultant at FactSet/Bloomberg/etc. to other positions in the industry.

I would recommend taking the job in London where you can build your network. I would imagine it would be much harder to move around in a different city where there aren't as many resources to help you. But if you feel like you know exactly what it is you want to do, then take that position over anything else.
