Boutique to MB/EB move

Hi everyone. Thanks for reading.

Now I am working at a regional boutique (team size <10) that only focuses on M&A. I joined here when I graduated last year, and the deal flow is acceptable considering the current environment.

I wonder if I could move to MB/EB or if anyone has been through this.

I'd like to know how long I should prepare for this move. (after One or Two years?)

Any extra work should I prepare when I am from a boutique?

One of my concerns is that I need to gain more experience with live deals. Seniors get more on that. I just supported them and did more pitching and researching work......

Many thanks for any insights. Looking forward to hearing from all of you.

From people I've known who started at smaller boutiques, they have usually lateraled to a MM first, and then if they really want they move upstream to an EB. I really have never met anyone who went from a small boutique straight to an EB. So you could lateral to a Blair type bank and then try to move up from there after a year depending on the hiring environment.
