Brand new to career paths outside of accounting - looking for guidance

Hi all,

I graduated from undergrad with a 3.17 GPA, worked a few years at an entry-level accounting position, and am finishing up my MAcc. Currently I have a 3.73 GPA but I don't know if that really matters. Anyway, I've wanted to go into auditing for a while now, since I find it somewhat interesting, attainable, and prestigious. My friend told me about this web site, telling me there's careers that are far more interesting and prestigious, although perhaps not attainable for me currently. Could anyone tell me about my possible futures, if any, in consulting/advisory or other career paths discussed on this site? I'd love more information on chances, exit opportunities, starting pay (I live in California), etc.
