Can I make it to a small NYC boutique from Penn State

Would it be possible (with networking and good grades) to make it to a boutique 10-30 man shop in NYC that pays 100k all in from Penn State main campus? How hard would it be?

How many times do I have to say this, the school you go to doesn’t matter, it’s what you do with your time while you’re there that does.

Sophomore SUPER non-target here received IB offers from BAML, RBC, WF, Barclays, CS, JPM.

All in that order ^

This is false. The school you go to greatly matters. If you work hard though, you can overcome the non target hurdles. I’m assuming that’s what you meant.

Dude, what? I worked with three at my boutique. Completely possible. Are you involved in the finance community at your school? I would be surprised if you've never come across any recent alumni who made it into solid banking gigs. Two guys were in my SA class and one of the VPs graduated from penn state years ago. I went to a total non target and made it. No excuses anymore, start networking and prepping man. All the resources are free on the internet nowadays.

Join finance clubs, try and get leadership roles, TA for classes, etc, but remember you have plenty of time so don’t be a total hardo and enjoy college for a few semesters
