Can my DOR fuck my career on WallStreet?
My director of research just found I am recruiting at other firms. Fired on the spot. It was a heated firing and knows other DOR’s on street. Can he ruin my career on wallstreet?

Unfortunately it’s not illegal, they can fire you for any reason (legal that is) and unfortunately they could fire you for recruiting externally (tho that sucks majorly and I’m so sorry for that).
Your best bet is to recruit (obviously), but I don’t think you should worry at all. Your director would never risk a lawsuit to tarnish your name.

Be happy you’re not working for him anymore. If a manager finds out you’re looking and doesn’t address it in a manner to keep you it means one of two things:
1 they’re a shit boss
2 you’re a shit employee
3 they’re a shit boss that made you a ‘shit’ employee
