Career Advice S.O.S Please
Hey ya'll, I recently got offered two positions at a big mortgage bank. It's either a FP&A role, or a Capital Markets role, more specifically: Secondary Market Operations. They described the role to me like most of the work I'd be doing is reconcilling MBS pricing between the trade desk and our team, and other work involved with pricing our securities, etc. I'd also have to get in at 6 AM everyday before market open to monitor anything that may affect interest rates, and in turn, our pricing strategy. My main question is: Will FP&A or CM be better for my career if I am eventually trying to end up in IBD or Management Consulting or PE. I graduated from a Semi Target (US Top 50), but more importantly, I'm going to try and get my MBA at a T15 before trying to make the switch to IBD/Mgmt Consulting. Any advice on which role to take that might be better for my future career is HEAVILY APPRECIATED. Thanks yall.
