Chance to convert internship into a FT offer MM IB in Frankfurt

Hello everyone,

I will start an internship with a MM IB in Frankfurt in November. Originally, I applied for a FT position, however the bank told me that they normally require an internship before giving FT offers.

How are the chances to convert an internship to a FT offer with MM IB like William Blair, N+1 Downer, Lincoln International etc.?

Any advice regarding how to prepare for and behave/ perform during the internship?

Thanks!

Are you going for American or European FT? That's important to know as is your level of language proficiency.

Worth noting that even though a lot of European banks are officially an "English workplace"(because it's the only common language shared between the European, Asian, and American branches of any large bank), it is still going to be difficult to work with them because different terms mean different things.

One example that caused a bad deliverable on my current project: What Europeans call a "business requirement" is what Americans would call a "technical requirement".

Regarding prep for the internship: Don't even bother. Enjoy your time until it starts. No one expects from you to know everything. They hired you - so they are convinced that you already can cope with the requirements of the job.

Regarding behavior: Be curious; willingness to learn, be social, attention to detail, try to come up with solutions on your own, work hard, don't make a mistake twice, only leave the office if there is really nothing else to do for you, seek actively for new assignments, be you!

Many thanks ifinno. Your tips helps me a lot!! One special question regarding lunch. As I still have high debt for student loan, I really need to save much money. Would it be a no-go to bring lunch with me?
