Clarification on IB Recruiting after Reclass
Hi everyone,
To give some context, I submitted an app for a couple IB roles in January of this year as a "why not" without doing the formal recruiting process thinking I wasn't actually going to go into IB. Yes I know, silly. Now that I am looking to go with the official process with a gap year, should I email HR of the firms I previously submitted applications to for clarification that I am now in the 2028 summer recruiting cycle? I'm worried that I am registered as part of the 2027 summer recruiting cycle or hit the limit on the number of applications per year and therefore get my application skipped over.
Thanks
skip the hr email, you are overthinking that part. just withdraw the january application in the portal and apply fresh when 2028 opens. each cycle is a new req so an old app usually does not block you, but a stale not-hired sitting in workday can get auto screened, so withdrawing is the clean move. application limits reset per cycle, and no human is ever going to connect the two.
