Clothing Attire & Business Cards for Informal Networking Event

I will attending a networking event/ discussion forum this coming week that was put together by member w/in a particular group on Linkedin.

The event is at a brewery on a Thursday at 6 and described as very informal.

What would one wear to this? Since 99% of the people attending the event will be wearing their work clothes. I'm going to say I should wear a suit...

Would it be "douche" to have my own business cards? I'm thinking yes, being that I'm unemployed and I can simply ask for theirs. But just want to hear your thoughts

RadarBankerWhat is "be douche" ... I think that is.

Sorry, but you asked for it. Just sayin'

Touche...

Glad we agreed on the business cards.

I looked at the "attendee list" and it seems to be a real mix of people. The majority are definitely not investment bankers or from top BB. There will be some individuals from various division of different banks and others who seem to be independent consultants. I'll be curious to see who actually shows up.

I can't imagine these people going home to change nor going to work in jeans....

My old man was an independent consultant for several years, and he made his own business cards. Just name, with a couple of professional titles, and contact info. This was also after 30 years work experience, he was to the point where someone would see the value added in hiring him as a consultant.
