Cold Outreach Start Date

I am a rising sophomore and wondering when I should start my cold outreach? I've heard tons of different dates from older students who just went through recruiting. I've got it down to a range from July 15th to August 15th to start reaching out. And really ramp up emails by early September.

Would love to hear thoughts on this as I don't want to start too early and come off as a hardo or start too late and miss opportunities. Would love to hear people's thoughts.
