I've had this happen to me a few times. I have a pretty unremarkable GPA and dropped resumes even if I missed the cutoff by a few points. If your work experience/extra curriculars make you a good candidate then they probably acknowledged that your GPA was low but still wanted to give you a shot. I would prepare like hell for a real interview.

The online thing is just for company records. For OCR bankers get a stack of resumes downloaded from the career site and pick who they want. Normally low GPAs won't get selected unless the person has a connection or good experience but you can see how it would be possible to still get the interview.

it happens. the bank i was at this summer had a 3.6 cut off point, and i was barely under and still got an interview.
