Contacting a Global Head
Would it be wise to e-mail a global head of say fixed income group at a buyside shop? Is this too high up for networking.

Career Resources
No. I know guys who contacted a Global Head because he was an alumni and he forwarded their resumes to HR and they all got first round interviews. Good things come to those who seek them.
Good Luck.
Nah, I contacted an alum who was the President at a huge RE firm and he arranged an interview with HR. What have you got to lose ? Fortune favors the brave my friend.
