Contacting Bankers Who Did Their MBA at my Undergrad

I'm currently a rising junior at a semi-target trying to network with alumni.

However, at some banks it seems there are lot more of my school's MBA/graduate alumni as oppoesd to undergraduate alumni. As an undergrad, is it wrong to reach out to MBA alumni of my school?

Any information would be appreciated.

(I know this topic was discussed in an older thread, but I tried searching for it with no avail)

I think you can and should go for it - just make sure to mention that you are indeed an undergrad (as I'm sure you would anyway) and that you realize they graduated from the a graduate program, but just wanted to know if you could ask them a few questions. I would reach out to the person the same way I would reach out to any other alumni - the school is their alma mater either way; you should get the same amount of positive feedback as you would when contacting U Grad alum - definitely not 100%, but not near zero either. Cast a wide net, and work the alumni angle - how they broke in from the school, etc - yes it's an MBA, but your school is a semi-target, so the strategies should be able to work for the associate and the analyst levels. Besides that, the general contact/network strategies should suffice - check out http://www.bankonbanking.com/2009/08/25/effectively-working-the-informa… as it may be able to provide further guidance on the general process (but if you've read through other forums, you've probably got a handle on a lot of it already).
