Currently going through a background check for a lateral position. It has been about three weeks and still has not cleared. After talking to the third party background check service provider, it appears the hold up is related to county courthouse closures due to COVID. Apparently the background check service providers send people to the county courthouse to review records. Has anyone else ran into a similar problem? If so, is the background check still outstanding or did it clear before the courthouses reopened?
