Damn, What next?

*Sigh..

Bummer, I was really hoping to get this Internship today, I began sending out emails to a few companies in my local area a few months ago (not many boutique banks around here) and finally got one of the partners attention, I always believed my CV wasn't as strong as most other potential candidates (Degree Classification 2:2) but I was excited when I was called in for a meeting with one of them. We sat down and went through my CV and he said everything was good apart from my education, he didn't seem to mind that I had no relevant internship experience which I've found to be my major pitfall in applying to boutiques up to date - seems like you need internship experience to get internship experience these days! But all that said it quickly turned from an internship interview to an informational interview. I was appreciative of his advice and guidance though, and I feel more informed and better equipped than before I went in, one point keeps playing on my mind and its regarding my next step, lets forget intern-shipping for the time being as I feel like I've exhausted all possible avenues.

I was hoping to complete an MSc in Finance and thought that was the right path for me to pursue (get back into the University system and use their careers service to apply for internships/graduate placements on completion) but after discussing that with him he suggested I do an MBA, I researched countless MBA programs ranging from the top schools to the mid-table schools and almost all require 2-5 years experience! I really can't get this experience with my CV the way it is now, I can't even get an unpaid internship! So do you suggest I carry on applying to specialized masters starting in September/October? or do you know what other options there may be for me.

All this said and done, the person I interviewed with was very impressed with me and it was I believe just my education that let me down, hes asked to stay in touch and keep him posted on the MBA status, maybe theres hope for me yet...

Thanks.
