Dear Traders, should I Ph.D. this?

I graduated 2 months ago

I have high grades, top achievements, unique experiences, social personality, etc.

Can't get trading experience in Canada since:
positions are non-existent (hoards of MBA students are aiming for Back office, no hedge funds, only 5 risk-adverse banks), I do not have direct experience in banking/trading

Can't get trading experience outside Canada since:
companies won't sponsor Visa for entry-level positions

I was thinking that the best way forward is to do a masters here, then apply for a ph.d. abroad (London, NY, Singapore, HK), and from there i would get a trading position.

1- What do you think about this?

2- I did undergrad in econ, but i would rather do my PhD in math or international relations, which should i do? (I'm naturally gifted in math and could easily get top grades, however I do not want to be a quant, I'm more interested in global macro)

3- Is there any other way? (I've cold called, sent hundreds of applications and hundreds of cold emails, i've done many informational meetings which led to them telling me that i'm smart but that there are very few positions)

Thank you
