Definitely leave the place if you can find a BB PWM, boutique IB internship or even PE internship.
Honestly that might not be bad if you look at it differently. Think of all the names and contact info you will have after the summer is done. Would make networking a lot easier and give you exp at the same time. You could do it for like a month, get a ton of names, and then just enjoy the rest of your summer.
even though you're dealing with PE, HF, BBs, etc.., it is still essentially an HR internship. this stigma may be hard to shake later on when you are applying for front office positions.
If you have a finance exit opp. Take it.
Just don't look for a new job at work.
