You're being paranoid.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

HBS research has shown the more you act concerned about race/sex the more racist/sexist you look.

You sound insecure (which such a surprise on WSO). If anything, the interviewer would pick up on that instead of some gender BS.

Sorry I graduated in May and just have not been able to secure a job that I really want. At this point I am trying to focus on every little detail in a interview.

Just relax! Sometimes we need to just let things go and calm down.

"I do not think that there is any other quality so essential to success of any kind as the quality of perseverance. It overcomes almost everything, even nature."

I would get checked by a mental health professional to diagnose your underlying condition, if I was you. I mean, the person in your story had to either be a man or a woman.

Actually, wait, that's not true. A friend of mine had to do an employee survey recently, one question was, "What's your gender?". Believe it or not, there were NINE choices!

Sounds more like she was almost "calling you out" for being gender neutral, which is awkward to do in a conversation that is more than 30 seconds. Nothing wrong with identifying gender, it's how the English language is set up!
