Direct connection with ED at top BB

So the "housing manager" of my fraternity also happens to be an ED at a top BB in NYC. With a staggeringly-low GPA of 3.17 at a target school, my chances for an IBD junior-year internship anywhere are abysmal considering just my grades. Any advice on how I should reach out to someone so senior in the company?

We've met a couple of times but may not immediately recognize the name upon receiving an email. Apart from just talking about the fraternity, does anyone have any cold-emailing "do's and don'ts" for such a situation?
