Do firms snitch if you're re-recruiting
Hi - Currently in an internship I'm not too fond of. It's a great buyside firm so its a good experience, but I think I'm searching for something else with regards to mentorship and culture.
I was wondering if firms are interconnected enough to where they would know if I was recruiting externally. I am wondering because the firm I work for has counterparties across the street that they do tons of business with, and if I am applying for these firms I would hate for that to get back to my current group.
I only ask as there was a rumor last summer at Goldman that HR knew if we had externally recruited due to agreements between departments. Suppose I'm just wondering if this is a myth. Thanks!

The internship is a couple of months. Just get the return offer and re-recruit after.
You should have a couple of months to sign the letter.

I started re recruiting after no offer (summer associate) and had looks at various BBs/EBs/MMs. Everywhere from Baird/Blair to PJT gave me interviews/coffee chats
my summer analyst buddy also re recruited actively during the internship and now is going to EVR/CVP/PJT
I did hear from someone in HR at an EB that all the Recruiting teams across banks talk to each other about candidates (again, don’t know if its correct but passing along what the head of recruiting told me)
