Do I still have a chance in Investment Banking?

Hey everyone

So after completing a summer internship in banking last summer (BB MO/BO), I had attempted applying for further internships within investment banking. Although I reached the assessment centre stage for a few firms, my mental health wasn’t in the best place at the time and so was unsuccessful in all of them. Recently, I secured a graduate role in a fintech company and am considering my options.

Would it be worth working in the fintech space and reapplying for banking post MBA? Or trying again for off cycle internships? Bare in mind I sent a lot of applications initially, so I’m unable to reapply for a lot of other firms’ openings.

Is a fintech background looked down upon? I always saw it as a potential exit rather than a career start? I would appreciate any thoughts please.

thanks!
