I'm sitting down with HR this week to discuss my review.
I agree with your second point, which is why I talked to all of my references last week and asked for honest criticism. I think they were more direct with me then than what they put in my review.
I'd say that it's a good sign. Depends on what group you're in, but a lot of groups give out offers to most of their summers, if not all -- depends on the BB -- you can PM me for more personal questions if you want. Something that I'm sure you already know if you got a good review is that its most important for SAs to have good attitudes -- attitude is a pretty important predictor of whether you have the ability to survive and thrive in banking for 2 years, which is certainly a marathon experience. Sounds like you're doing good work and enjoying yourself so I'd just keep doing good work and bonding with your team. Good luck.

Did they give you at least three things or recommendations on what to keep working on? You can straight up ask your associate etc. as well what he thinks you should focus on, it's good to talk about these things and it'll show you have initiative. My bosses were always really good about giving me a concrete action plan on how to keep growing, but I know some other bosses were too busy or just didn't put the time in to do meaningful reviews.
Remember too that they've really only seen you for a really short time - it gets more serious in FT when you have mid-year reviews because they know alot more and do alot more with you. For an internship tho I think they probably really only do it so they can shape up anyone who's in danger of not meeting expectations.
Good luck and keep us posted on how the summer goes. Getting offers at banks is not easy these days.
Don't let your guard down. All the summer analysts in my group were told they were doing great during the mid summer review but only half of us got a FT offer at the end of the summer
