Do you reply to congratulations email or wait until you accept to reply?

Just got a return offer and a bunch of people in my team are spamming my inbox now. I'm certain I'm going to accept but I haven't received the written letter email from HR yet.

This question may be kind of stupid, but should I respond to the people today with just a simple thanks (and then subsequently follow-up again when I officially accept) or should I wait until I've accepted the offer to write a more substantial thank you email telling them I accepted?

Not sure if it's annoying to follow-up in scenario 1 but don't want to seem rude by not responding for a few days either.

Should I tell them I'm planning on accepting it? Writing a simple thanks seems too short
