Does when you send your application matter and should you re-send it if you get no response?

I applied to a lot of jobs last Wednesday and I would have thought I would have heard from some of those firms by now. I applied to probably 20+ places. I would expect to get at least a phone interview from most of these firms. These weren't big banks, but mostly smaller firms. I wonder if it's easy for things to have gotten lost between then and Monday? When should I consider redoing my application if I don't get a reply?

Thank you.

You applied online and you're wondering why you haven't heard back?

Yes, I don't know if I should be patient, wait, or do something to get their attention.

His point was online applications are black holes... network with people at the firms. Send some emails and set up some phone calls to introduce yourself and learn about their career, firm, advice, etc. That is how you get interviews. Online applications almost never get you interviews. I didn't use a single online application (until I was told to complete them after getting interviews) and had 10+ interviews. I know people who applied to 30+ firms online and heard back nothing.

Put your time into talking to people and seeing if they can help you.

I'm in the same boat. Reached out to recruiters at some places but they said they weren't in charge of the role I was looking for and couldn't refer me to someone else.
