Don’t be so lazy when reaching out on LinkedIn
Some super simple advice to get a better response rate when trying to connect with people: if you are going to add someone on LinkedIn that you don’t know because you are interested in applying for a position in their team, at the very least include a message when you request to connect with them. I assumed this would be a given but last week I received 20 connection requests in one day after sharing about a role and only one out of the 20 bothered to include a message. Guess which one got a response.
It literally takes a few minutes (if that) to write a brief message.
